In Loving Memory of Delores Ann Bankson April 30, 1934 - April 9, 2024 Our beloved mother Delores Ann Bankson passed away peacefully with her two daughters by her side. She was just three weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Preceded in death by her parents Paul and Teresa Causky. Siblings, Annie, Mary, Susie, Rudy, Johnny, Helen, Joey, Raymond and her ex husband Jere Bankson. Delores was the youngest of nine children. Her nickname was Goo Goo. Survived by her children Teresa, Carrie and Jim (Janice Jim's wife) grandchildren, Dustin, Lucas, Joey and numerous nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Logan West Virginia. Here family was very close, full of good times, great food and plenty of laughs. Everyone was always welcome. Mom had very fond memories of West Virginia and great stories to tell. She would tell us about her mother picking berries in the morning and making fresh pies by that evening. Mom learned to become a good cook from her mother and her siblings. Lucky for us. Delores moved to Los Angeles as a young teenager with her sister Helen and brother-in-law Jim. Most of her siblings moved to Los Angels for the weather and better opportunities. Mom married our father shortly after high school. She had all of us by the age of twenty five. Our mother was very loving and took great pride caring for her kids. She kept our home meticulously clean and organized. Summers were always a lot of fun. She welcomed the kids in the neighborhood to come over and swim. She would always have snacks and something cool to drink for everyone. Delores loved the sun and always had a beautiful tan. On some summer days she and a good friend in our neighborhood with her kids would take all of us to the beach. Going to the drive-in theater with her friend Ellen and her kids was always an adventure. They would take two cars so that the kids would be in one car and the adults in the other car. That worked out well for all of us. Mom made the holidays special and fun. There was always a beautiful tree next to the fireplace. The fireplace that was never used. She didn't want it to get dirty. Delores had her little quirks that we will always remember and enjoy sharing the funny stories about them. We would spend a lot of time with her sisters, brothers and all of our cousins. We had such good times with all of them. Everyone in our mother's family had such a good sense of humor. They would keep everyone laughing. Mom would stay up all night sitting around the kitchen table playing cards with her siblings. Those were great days. After raising her children Delores went to work at LAX Marriott and eventually would move to Palm Desert to work at JW Marriott. She was with the Marriott corporation for 25 years. Delores loved her family very much and loved spending time with them. She loved going to the casino to play the nickel machines and sometimes she would actually win. She enjoyed going out to eat for a good meal. Most of all family was important to her. Mom we love you and will miss you very much.
