James Bruce Mason, 55, passed away on March 17, 2026, surrounded by love. James was born in Australia and carried an adventurous spirit with him throughout his life. At eighteen, he traveled alone to the United States, beginning a journey that would take him across the world. He lived in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, London, Paris, and M�laga, and traveled to places including Mexico City, Tahiti, and Fiji. Wherever he went, James embraced life fully and lived it on his own terms. He was creative, expressive, and had a presence that drew people in. James performed at the Sydney Opera House in Les Mis�rables under the direction of Baz Luhrmann and appeared in commercials and independent films. But more than anything, he was known for his sharp, often mischievous sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. Friends remember him as someone whose presence brought warmth, energy, and light into any room. James lived for many years with a complex and often misunderstood chronic illness. It brought daily challenges that weren't always visible to others, but he faced them with quiet strength, resilience, and dignity. Even on his hardest days, he remained deeply compassionate, always offering kindness, conversation, and support to those around him. He found joy in simple things-gardening, being outdoors, and especially the ocean, which always brought him peace. With his unmistakable blue eyes and easy charm, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. For the past sixteen years, James shared his life with his partner, Allen. Together they built a life grounded in love, devotion, and unwavering support-something that was evident to everyone who knew them. James lived fully, loved deeply, and gave his heart freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. He is survived by his partner, Allen; his mum, Barbara; siblings Peter and Penelope; nieces Bianca, Ana and Eliza; and brothers-in-law Kieran and Mai, along with family and friends across the United States and Australia. A celebration of life will be held at a Private Home in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca on April 11, 2026. Those who feel moved to honor James' memory may contribute to a memorial fund established in his name to support final arrangements and create a lasting legacy in his honor.
